Core-wrapping technology is a king of refining method that has been developed in recent years. It is widely used in the modern wire-feeding technology of steelmaking, the usage of cored wire is roughly as follows: Through the wire feeder, made a specified number of cored wire pass through the slag layer at a certain speed and reach the bottom of the ladle filled with molten steel, as the core of the cored wire continues to melt there, the additives wrapped in it will be continuously released into the molten steel,through the interaction of additive and the surrounding molten steel, can achieve the deodidation, desulfurization, microalloying, fine-tuning and inoculanting treatment of the treated solution outside the furnace, thereby can improve the cleanliness of the molten iron and improve the performance. Since the reaction of the additive with the molten steel is carried out in the depth of the molten steel in a certain static pressure, the oxidation and burning of the alloying elements by the air and the slag can be avoided; and can also made the additive or its vapor and treated solution have large contact area and long action time.
