The difference between ferrosilicon 72 and ferrosilicon 75

Date: 06-29-2022
Ferrosilicon is an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made of coke, steel scraps, quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelted in an electric furnace.

Ferrosilicon 72 and 75 generally refer to the difference in silicon content, our 72 generally has a silicon content of 72-80, 75# ferrosilicon refers to a silicon content greater than or equal to 75, and there are 75A, 75B, 75C ferrosilicon, 72# The ferrosilicon refers to the content of silicon greater than or equal to 72, such as 75 ferrosilicon and 72 ferrosilicon, both of which are national standard grades, in addition to non-standard ferrosilicon, such as 65 ferrosilicon, and other trace elements The content of aluminum in 75A# ferrosilicon is below 1.5, the content of 72 ferrosilicon is below 2, the content of sulfur is below 0.02, and the content of manganese and phosphorus is below 0.04.

Both 75A and 75B are ferrosilicon, but their silicon content is different and their downstream is also different. 75A, commonly known as 75#, is mainly used for magnesium, 75B, 72#, is mainly used in the steel industry, and 75B (72#) is mainly used in the steel industry.

The impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on ferrosilicon may be reflected in an increase in exports.
